A Home Depot location had an ongoing seasonal issue with local geese nesting in their Garden Center department and acting aggressively toward customers and associates. One associate was even bitten. Each time a new pair of Geese would take up nesting, they would request trapping and removal.
Brighter Image effectively trapped and removed the aggressive geese each time the service was requested. However, our team members identified an annual pattern and began proactively exploring further abatement possibilities. We developed a simple, cost-effective solution – decoys which mimic geese in “agony” postures, causing fear and flight reactions in live geese. These decoys were carefully placed in order to be visible to the geese, but not the customers.
During the complimentary Quality Control call shortly following the service, Brighter Image was informed by management that they were very happy – the decoys were a success! They had not seen any geese since the installation of the decoys. They also added that the Brighter Image team was very respectful and professional they would be happy to work with them again.
Multiple seasons have passed and this site remains geese free. This simple solution prevented the company from continuing to spend thousands of dollars on bird abatement services.
Case Study #2
A Lowes location had a large homeless encampment surrounding their propery resulting in significant theft from the store and dangerous encounters for store personnel. They needed assistance removing a significant amount of trash and debris and to get the areas cleared. They were given a 30-day deadline for resolution, including landscaping work that was to follow the debris removal.
Working in conjunction with local law enforcement, Brighter Image notified occupants, allowing everyone to move on with their belongings.Then the work began toremove thousands of pounds of trash and debris, filling 5 industrial sized dumpsters.
We worked along with law enforcement throughout the project when needed to keep everything moving along smoothly and without incident. Daily updates and photos were provided to the Lowes team throughout the course of the project so they could rest assured that the timeline was on track.
Lowes Regional and District Representatives inspected the area and were pleased with the work completed. The area was completely cleared of debris and Lowes was able to reclaim their property and reduce their theft and safety concerns.
